Corruption at border making it difficult to stop Rohingya infiltration: Foreign Adviser

Foreign Affairs Advisor of Bangladesh. Abul Kalam Abdul Momen recently said that corruption at the border has made it difficult to stop the infiltration of Rohingyas. He said that Rohingyas are entering Bangladesh illegally with the help of some dishonest officials and border residents. This situation poses a challenge to Bangladesh's security situation and compliance with international law.

Dr. Momen said that the border area of Bangladesh is under pressure due to massive influx of Rohingya refugees. He said that the Bangladesh government has taken strict measures to solve this problem and border surveillance has been increased, but due to corruption and various criminal activities like drug trade at the border, it is becoming difficult to maintain full control.

He asked the international community for a permanent solution to the Rohingya problem and said that Bangladesh cannot deal with this problem alone. He expressed hope that global cooperation will be increased to resolve the crisis with Myanmar.
